WEDNESDAY UPDATE
This will be one of the weeks where it will be brief.
Players who have withdrawn: Aaron Baddeley and Kevin Na
Weather
It will be quite windy this week. Windfinder shows consistent 30-35 mph winds with gusts up to 40 mph all day for both Thursday and Friday. Winds should calm down on the weekend, but rain Saturday may be a factor. As far as lineup decisions go, there doesn't appear to be a tee time wave with an advantage. However, you may want to factor in players who have shown some success in the wind before.
Ownership
It's a pretty concentrated group at the top of projected ownership models. Using Fantasy National and FanShare Sports, here is a list of golfers (in no particular order) who are expected to be 15%+ owned: Justin Thomas (may threaten 25%), J.T. Poston, Charles Howell III, Webb Simpson, Sebastian Munoz, Collin Morikawa, Joaquin Niemann, Matt Kuchar. There are some others that could end up here, but this is where the consensus is.
Other Notes
My only note here will be looking at the past 24 rounds, who has played well in extemely windy conditions. Please realize that this is a very limited sample as some golfers may only have a few rounds, or none at all. This is meant to provide a little guidance and maybe a name or two to consider: but by no means drastically change your player pool simply based on this (Total Strokes Gained list on Fantasy National)
- Daniel Berger
- Matt Kuchar
- Charley Hoffman (There you go James!) and Jason Dufner
- Webb Simpson
- Justin Thomas
- Luke List
- Mark Hubbard
- Patrick Reed
- Ryan Palmer
